JOB SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a Heating and Ventilation Engineer to join our engineering team in Saint Bruno de Montarville. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will perform the following tasks:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

QUOTE:
  • Make the selections and estimate the cost of the client project using internal software;
  • Evaluate potential bids: o Quick reading of plans and specifications; o Prioritization;
  • Prepare and verify bids for standard and specialty HVAC/HVAC products;
  • Develop and analyze specifications, plans and schedules to provide a satisfactory proposal according to the client's criteria; o Validate compliance with potential deadlines for submission projects; o Prepare preliminary bills of material; o Create a submission number; o Customize material bills; o Evaluate manufacturing costs and time; o Prepare envelopes (administrative documents) in case of pre-purchase;
  • Prepare and forward quotes to the client;
  • Taking measurements at construction sites.
ENGINEERING:
  • Master HVAC / HVAC systems;
  • Master the standards and application of formulas and calculations;
  • Assess feasibility with internal departments (design, production);
  • Produce, verify and forward the documentation required for the approval of clients, agents and representatives;
  • Produce and send release documents for the design department such as: specifications, technical documents, schedule, requisitions, control of the products provided by the customer;
  • Produce shop drawings and engineering calculations for approval according to plans, specifications and/or customer requests;
  • Make and validate selections for shop drawings;
  • Prepare relevant documents (approval/production);
  • Write technical documentation (specifications and approval shop drawings);
  • Search for technical information (when required);
  • Gather technical information to complete the engineering (updating of specifications and plans according to the latest addenda);
  • Advise and offer technical support to the entire company;
  • Communicate with departments to ensure that specifications and shop drawings are compliant;
  • Contact the contractor and engineer for any technical questions;
  • Send the quote for approval to the contractor/changes when changing;
  • Prepare the Manual of Operations (O&M) and the list of replacement parts;
  • Manage and update mandatory certifications and certifications of the profession
  PRODUCTION LAUNCH
  • Enter requisitions in ERP system;
  • Complete ISO quality forms in the engineering section to ensure contract follow-up and contract review;
  • Modify the purchase order according to the manufacturing processes.
  CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
  • Optimize the submission process and the working methods of your department;
  • Create tools to make daily tasks more efficient;
  • Contribute to the improvement and development of new products;
  • Set up and maintain the performance dashboard.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or knowledge of mechanical building manufacturing operations;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position;
  • Experience in customer management;
  • Knowledge of HVAC/HVAC systems;
  • Good knowledge of computer-aided systems, AutoCAD;
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written French and English;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office,
  • Excellent command of the ERP system,
