Job Summary

Reporting to the Production Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the entire procurement cycle of raw materials, components, services, and other goods necessary for the company’s production and operations. You will play a key role in cost optimization, supplier relationship management, and ensuring material availability to meet customer needs.

Main responsibilities

As a Strategic Sourcing Buyer, you will perform the following tasks:
  • Sourcing and selection of both local and global suppliers to ensure supply chain stability.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of manufacturing equipment, components, and raw materials (Steel, Copper, Aluminum) as well as specialized parts (valves, fans, motors, controllers, compressors).
  • Execution and management of accurate P2P (Procure-to-Pay) documentation and workflows
  • Ensure on-time arrival of materials to the factory store and provide all necessary supporting documentation to the Accounts Payable (AP) department.
  • Secure competitive pricing and maintain high quality and Service Quality Levels (SQL) from all vendors.
  • Proactive inventory management aimed at achieving a target of 10 turns.

Requirements

  • College graduate in Science or Engineering (an asset).
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Buyer and in SCM Sourcing
  • Knowledge in mechanics, electricity, heating, and ventilation (HVAC).
  • Essential bilingualism (French and English), both oral and written; proficiency in a third language is considered an asset.

Travel

  • 110%–15% travel for face-to-face interaction with vendors.
  • Occasional requirement to interact with global suppliers across different time zones (via online Teams meetings).
